Viv Goldberg Viv Goldberg has worked in media and the arts since 1979, and her wide range of skills can be applied to an equally wide range of work areas.

Web production formed most of her work within the BBC from 1999 to 2007, her portfolio including projects ranging from sites for singing competitions, the history of religion, nature, the paranormal, BBC Pensions, orchestras, and applications for EastEnders and CBBC.

Prior to 1999, Viv worked in TV production for many years, mainly in the area of classical music but also including the other arts. Productions included one-offs such as Britten’s Curlew River and series, including Monteverdi’s opera L’incoronazione di Poppea presented as a five-part soap opera, and The Slate, BBC Wales’ long-running and award-winning arts magazine and documentary series.

Her work in TV has also informed a lot of Viv’s web work, and her knowledge of the production process has been invaluable when planning interactive content around TV and radio programming. As well as websites, she has worked on red button content, voting, competitions and webchats, all associated with the web material she was producing for TV programmes.

Viv’s career started in orchestral management in London, and for a time she managed the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, arranging two major European tours as well as concerts across Wales and England. Since 2008 she has returned to this type of work on a freelance basis, servicing international tours for IMG Artists, for the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia and The Cleveland Orchestra.

In 2007, Viv trained in copy-editing and proofreading, and is available on a freelance basis to undertake this kind of work, both for web and print. Her main projects have been for the 2008 Menuhin Competition and the 2009 BBC Cardiff Singer of the World competition. She also wrote programme notes for both these competitions.
